The Ross Automobile Company was established in 1915 and the first Ross was a V-8 touring model. A longer wheelbase V-8 followed in 1916 and was available in a range of body styles. But the company was suffering financial problems. Late in 1916 financiers reorganized the management of the company but the result was chaotic. By February 1918 the Ross plant had been sold and all Ross creditors were paid in full.
Total production of the Ross car is unknown but is likely to have been modest.
