Otis C. Friend took over the Olympian Motor Company in early 1920 and continued to manufacture the Olympian car (see Olympian) until he was ready to produce his own motor car.
The Friend was a 31 hp four-cylinder automobile and was introduced at the New York Automobile Show in January 1921. The Friend was offered in touring, roadster, coupe and sedan styles. However, operations came to an end later in 1921, after the production of only 50 cars. Shortage of working capital and poor conditions in the market were cited as the reasons for the collapse of the business.

The white and blue enamel Friend radiator emblem shown above is extremely rare.
