This is a Pennsy radiator emblem (1916-1917) khec Size: 48mm diameter MM: Whitehead & Hoag |
The first Pennsy was a 30/35 hp four-cylinder car offered in touring and roadster styles. Production began in the summer of 1916 in fits and starts. The company was in receivership in December 1916 as a result of mismanagement and other charges.
The company was reorganized later in 1917 as the Pennsylvania Motor Car Company and for the 1918 model year a 48 hp six-cylinder companion car joined the original four-cylinder Pennsy. But the Pennsy was finished by the end of 1918.
Production numbers are unknown but are likely to have been low.

Emblems
The Pennsy radiator emblem shown above is extremely rare.
I do not know if there was a Pennsy emblem made for the Pennsylvania Motor Car Company but, if so, this would also be extremely rare. If you have details of such an emblem, please let me know.
