The Albatross car was designed by Peter Arno, a popular illustrator and cartoonist in the mid-1930's. The Albatross Motor Car Company was set up to produce the Albatross but full production of the Albatross did not follow. The car was based on a 1939 Mercury chassis with a stretched wheelbase and had European styling. Three body styles were projected in December 1939 but only one racing convertible was in fact made, which Peter Arno used for his private purposes.
Emblem
The blue enamel Albatross emblem shown above appears in several early collections of American auto radiator emblems and is believed to have been made for the production models of the Albatross car. This Albatross radiator emblem is rare.
The following shows a version of this Albatross emblem with black enamel but I cannot confirm that this is an original Albatross radiator emblem:
