When Marmon (see Marmon) decided in 1929 to use eight-cylinder cars throughout their range they introduced the Roosevelt as America's lowest priced straight-eight.
The Roosevelt arrived in March 1929 as a separate make and helped to boost Marmon sales significantly. But the stock market crash that followed soon after hit Marmon badly and Marmon sales fell. The Roosevelt did not continue beyond 1930. However, Marmon had offered a Marmon-Roosevelt model from 1929 and this model designation was continued by Marmon into 1931. The Roosevelt name disappeared altogether by 1932.
The Roosevelt also displayed a black painted cast metal emblem attached to the front bumper beneath the radiator, see example below. This Roosevelt bumper emblem is scarce.

The Roosevelt radiator emblem was changed in 1930 to a similar oval-shaped emblem with the name "Roosevelt" across a black and white enamel background, see example below. This Roosevelt radiator emblem is rare.
The following small, oval-shaped, black and white enamel radiator emblem depicting a stylised letter "M" is the same size as the previous Roosevelt emblems. It was used primarily for export versions of the Roosevelt, reportedly due to concerns that the "Roosevelt" name would be less understood overseas. I believe that this Roosevelt radiator emblem was used in 1930 and may have continued into 1931 but I cannot confirm this. This Roosevelt radiator emblem is scarce.
