Montgomery Ward & Company was a large mail order company, which had two electric cars built in 1896 for advertising purposes but these electric runabouts were not offered for sale. Between 1912 and 1914 Montgomery Ward offered a gasoline car called the Madoc but had no dealership network or servicing facilities to support customers who bought the car.
Another car to be called the Wardway was developed for Montgomery Ward and prototypes are believed to have been built but there is no available evidence that production followed.
Emblem
The black and red painted Wardway Vehicles nameplate shown above may have been attached to a prototype Wardway but this cannot be confirmed. This Wardway nameplate is very rare.
The following advertising pin depicts one of Montgomery Ward's 1896 electric vehicles, which was used to advertise Montgomery Ward. These vehicles did not carry an emblem.
