This is a Ful-Ton delivery car emblem (1937-1938) mjs Size: 127mm wide 64mm high MM: None |
There is almost no information published about the Ful-Ton custom built delivery car, except that it was produced in Los Angeles in 1937 and possibly in 1938.
The only references that I can find for the Ful-Ton truck are a series of advertisements in The Los Angeles Times, which appeared for seven consecutive days in February 1937, simply giving the Ful-Ton Truck Company name under the list of Truck Manufacturers, and an advertisement for a factory representative or dealer appearing in the Riverside Daily Press in April 1937, which included an illustration of the Ful-Ton delivery car, see below:

The Ful-Ton appears to have been designed as a stand-drive truck for use as a frequent stop delivery vehicle.
By 1938, the company name was Ful-Ton Truck & Trailer Company, which suggests that the company planned to produce trailers as well as trucks. However, the Ful-Ton delivery car venture was clearly unsuccessful as the Ful-Ton Truck & Trailer Company was bankrupt by October 1938 when the complete Ful-Ton plant and offices were sold by public auction.
If you have further details of the Ful-Ton custom delivery car, please let me know, in order to update this post.
Emblem
The painted metal Ful-Ton truck emblem shown above at the top of this post was most likely displayed on the front of the vehicle. This Ful-Ton emblem is rare.
